When My Inner Demons Win for a Day

If I were to be the 

ideal person for 

someone else, 

I must 

first be my ideal self.

To feel beautiful, i must see beauty from my own eyes. 

To know love, I must first give love. Risks and losses be damned.

So maybe it is me not you. It is my fault I am single and wallowing in self pity every now and then. I give in to my inner demons that torment me no end but not because I have given up. I haven't. I won't.

Surrendering to the little inner demons for the day gave me a better perspective of what is present, what is not and what is ahead. A lot of work needs to be done to achieve the happiness I deserve and only I can make that happen. This makes me realize that the road is long but not impossible to conquer. The race to the finish line is just up ahead.

So after entertaining the doubts, fears and despair, I am ready to walk on again. I'll put on my red lipstick and face the world with a smile. After all, nobody wants to hang out with such a drag.
