AHEIR

A report from the Association of Higher Education Institutions Region – IVA (AHEIR, 2011) mentions Limited Access to Quality Higher Education, as evidenced by the low participation rate and low completion rate caused by increasing costs and limited student assistance programs, as one of the top challenges faced by adult learners in pursuing Higher Education. They support it with a forecast that out of 100 students who enrolled in Grade 1, only 14 will graduate in higher education.

Di na nalimutan.

ang buhay ay ano, mahalagang salita
silang naniningning sa bawat pusot diwa
mahirap harapin at mahirap makita
ang totoong kahulugan at totoong adhika

paghubog sa kakayahan
nagsisimula sa tahanan
mga magulang ang magtuturo ng tamang daan
daan tungo sa kaunlaran

sa taong mabuti at marangal ang budhi
malinis na hangin ang laging dumadampi
dapatwat kapag mayroong pagkakamali
dapat itong itama para di magsisi

ang buhay talga
para ditong barahang binabasa
minsan iiyak, minsan tatawa

ang halamang bagong sibol kung mapapansin
dagling nalalanta kung di didiligin
tulad ng pagibig na di napapnsin
nakatanim man sa puso'y malalanta din

bahay mong malaki pagang may ari ay madamot
mabuti pa ang kubo at bukas sa kumakatok
anumang buti kung may halong iyamot
mawawala ang bango at magiging mabantot

habang maaga pa ay atin nang pigilan
masasamang kaugaliang ating nakasanayan
gawin ang buhay na makabuluihan
at dito mararamdaman ang tunay na kasiyahan

talga ngang ang buhay ay tulad kawayan
dalhin man ng baha ay walang kamatayan
at doon sa huli nitong hinantungan
sisibol muli ang bagong kalingan

dapat nating maalala
habang tayo ay buhay pa
isang beses lang tayo mabubuhay sabi ng ama
kaya dapat mabuhay ng masaya

sapagkat ang buhay ay parANG  kawikaan
sayo at sa akin iba ang kahulugan
pagnilayan ngayon at pagsikapan
bago pa mawalan ng lubusan

a knight without armor
yes he does exist
i know he will be the best partner
giving us with overflowing gifts

he's all dressed up in white
he wears a smile on his face
he has a pair of eyes as dark as night
and we will know that he is full of grace

his skin so fair his beard so long
with his arms and hands that look so strong
i know that he really is a perfect knoght
because whenever he's here, everything seem so right

one night i dreamt of him fighting evil
i got scared frightened? a little
i know that he will win for he is brave
his life for our life is what he gave

but wait for a little while and believe
he'll take us to his kingdom where we all should be

Think

As the time ticks by

I can’t think of anything to write.

Do I write about my pride that’s as high as the sky

Or the thing that could make someone cry?

I don’t know what to write about.

Something that could make anyone doubt

what they believed since they were young

or something that would seem so fun?

What should I write about then?

What I think is supposed to happen

or the things that should have been

if I had chosen a different decision back then?

I looked at the blank paper on my table

why can’t I think of anything incredible

that would be interesting enough

to make anyone cry, smile or laugh.

The more I think, the more I can’t pick.

What should be the appropriate topic?

Should it be about love, sadness or life?

What would be the audience’s type?

she hands it to the teacher then leaves

The person beside me stands

her paper in her hands

while I’m here thinking without ease.

Ah! I haven’t started my poem yet!

Oh my God, I’m starting to sweat.

Another person stands and gives their paper to the teacher

I better start this thing and ramble later.

captivated by her smile; yes! indeed she could!
her charms were full of deception
her eyes shines throughout the darkness
her tender voice could immediately slave you

she was the reason when that season came
an allie? a foe? i never knew
she destroyed the columns in my castle
she sent a raging storm in my paradise

fallen betrayed spitted out
i'm afraid i was naive in the first place
their treachery ruined my virtue
but that was before yes indeed it was

she took my king before dawn arise
better known for things that she does on the mattress
she wAS SHE WAS OH HOW I HOPED YOU COULD HAVE MET HER
BUT STILL LEFT ME ALONE IN MY CASTLE NOTHING BUT WITH MY LAMP

The Family I Love

There are three persons I love the most

They did not teach me how to boast

Early in the morning, they rise

To work for us and sacrifice

To my mother I dearly love

That is given to me from heaven above

You are so pretty, mommy

And I love you wholeheartedly

My father is very hard working

He makes the whole family proudly standing

His duty is to fight

And protect the family with all his might

And how can I forget

My sister that I mostly bet

I know that we always argue

But remember that I definitely love you

I thank God for my family

They make my everyday life lovely

I pray for us to be tight

For our relationship to be alright

But there’s nothing I can do to make you stay

Noong una pa lamang aking sinta,

Sa iyong ganda’y nabighani muna,

Sa tuwing ika’y ngingiti,

Puso ko din napapangiti,

Dahil sa mata mo na chinita,

Pagmamahal ko sa iyo di maipinta.

Ngunit hanggang ngayong aking mahal,

Ikaw pa din aking ipinagdadasal,

Na makasama ko habang buhay,

Mahalin lamang ako at bigyan ng buhay,

Itong puso kong patay na patay,

Sa iyo’y nawalan ako ng malay,

Kung hindi man umabot tayo sa puntong pagmamahalan,

Laman ng puso ko sayo’y di pakakawalan,

Sapagkat pangako ko sa may kapal na ikaw lamang and laman,

Ang babaeng aking pakakasalan,

Isisigaw pangalan mo sa simbahan,

Sa harap ng altar ng diyos at sasabihing ikaw lamang mamahalin magpakailan pa man,

Ang tulang iyo’y para sa iyo,

Sana naman mahal marinig mo,

Matagal ko ng gustong ipahatid,

Pag-ibig ko sa iyo, walang batid,

Sana pagkatapos nito,

Masabi mo sa akin na mahal mo rin ako.

LUNCH BREAK

Sa tuwing ako ay wala

At nakatunganga sa bintana

Inaasam na ikaw ay matikman

Masarap na ramen na tempura ang laman

Nagutom lang kasi sa pinagagawa kanina

Sari-saring utos ni boss sa akin pinagawa

“punta ka rito, at diyan , may natawag at pakidala ito saglit”

Pero depensa lng sa kanya ay walang galit

Nagkataon pa may problema sa pamilya

Naglayas si bunso, nagkaanak pa si kuya

Di alam ang gagawin ni tatay, Lintek namantay pa si Bantay!

Ako nagaalala, salamat at nandiyan si nanay

Quizzes, homework, seatwork at mga Exams!

Mga teacher na walng tigil at hindi nauuyam

Wala akong ideya , anu nga ba ang gusto nilng patunayan

Respeto lng sa kanila, alam ko sila ang pagasa ng bayan

At patay ako kay Jen , di ko siya sinipot

Nagbihis pa naman ,itsura daw naging lapot

Sorry po, nagshoot kami kaya si ako nakasipot

Sa dami kong problemang hinaharap

Maging sarili ko ay hindi na mahanap

Sa trabaho, pamilya, eskwelahan at pag-ibig ay hirap

Pero kahit ganun wag na wag silang mawala ng iglap

Sana sa ginugol kong oras narating ko ang sagot

Kahit kailangan pa humanap ng panghugot

Sa tagpuan at ngayun sa akin iyamot

Iniisip ko na din ito kanina pa

Nag time na at Lunch Break na pala.
