SKY WITH NO STARS By Reillon Panganiban IT2B

Everyone is different in their own way,

Everyone is unique and never similar.

We all have different perspectives, and never think alike.

Everyone has distinct idiosyncrasies,

And everyone has distinct voices.

A voice we use to express ourselves,

And a voice we use to label ourselves.

This voice we use to propagate our ideas,

And this voice we use to make a difference.

We all have opportunities and changes to fight for our rights and for our freedom,

The path to absolute tranquillity, a utopian world,

Rid of evil, greed and inequality.

It is without a doubt an optimistic vision,

But only because we are dragged out by criticism,

Straying from the path of tranquillity,

Grabbing us in the leg.

Along the stale soil,

Our finger nails penetrating, piercing and puncturing deep in to the dirt,

In hopes of resisting this seemingly endless dragging,

The abrasion exerted in our skin,

Causing an excruciating sting,

Manifested and caused by the evils in this world.

Pounding, scratching and thumping;

The hands that laid marks in the soil,

The bombardment of harsh words,

Just because you crave for achievement

Believe it or not, some don’t even try to resist.

Despite the physicality of the predicament,

Vigorous coercions and inescapable taunting.

They climb up the ladder only to let go,

Never making it to the top.

While the ones who try yet don’t persist,

Are only stopped by outside interference.

Transcendentalists always prevail, conjuring light out of the dark.

Illuminating the top of the ladder,

Foreseeing the sky with no stars.

They create their own light.
